			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>NOTE: The application deadline is March 26, 2010.</p>
<p>In April 2010, the Robert M. Takasugi Fellowship will select one or more law students as Takasugi Fellows for the summer of 2009. The Fellowship will fund those fellows’ work in an amount up to $5,000.</p>
<p>All fellows must work at a public interest “sponsoring” organization, subject to approval by the Fellowship. In the past, the Fellowship has approved organizations classified as 501(c)(3)s (by the IRS Code) and public defenders’ offices. The organization must be in either the San Francisco Bay Area or the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The fellows must work at a sponsoring organization for at least ten weeks during the summer of 2010.</p>
<p>To apply, please submit only: a cover letter; your resume; three references (without letters); and answers to the following questions (no more than three pages):<br />
[1] How did you learn of the Robert M. Takasugi Public Interest Fellowship?<br />
[2] What public interest organizations have you applied to or plan to apply to for the summer of 2010?<br />
[3] Please list individuals you look to as role models as well as why.<br />
[4] What are your career goals at this time, and how has your background and upbringing shaped said goals?<br />
[5] Please describe how you and your work would further the mission and carry on the ideals of Judge Robert M. Takasugi.<br />
[6] Please discuss your finances, including your level of law school debt, if any. Also include whether you have applied for and/or received other sources of funding or scholarships for the same time period.</p>
